BONUS FEATURE! an aside-like explanation for the curious and confused: in it’s raw form, “save our superheroes!” is about a big fan of batman’s making him a space helmet out of a collander (that was sent to holland in order to meet space specifications). but despite the fan’s enthusiasm (and perhaps because of it) said space helmet is unsafe! it’s up to us to help save our superheroes! as the explanation gets more refined (or as the onion skin peels), the song is about the mythologies that we create and take part in (be it a comic universe, a sunnydale high, a greek pantheon, or a wizarding school), and how our participation as readers and viewers (and listeners!) is inextricably bound to their lives. “as we watch, we defend the attack”. it’s secretly dedicated to grant morrison, for the really big geeks in the house. there are more secret dedications on this album, to be revealed in THE FUTURE.
